Coconut sugar is a granulated powder that comes from palm tree blossom nectar. The taste is sweet, with a hint of caramel, vanilla, cinamon, or even with a hint of curry, depending on the harvest. Despite its wide range of tastes, it never tastes like coconut. However, it is always full-bodied and has high residual moisture.
JANUR aims to keep 80% of the coconut sugar value added in Java region, where the sugar is produced.
Production, packaging and all the raw materials come from small farmers in Java. In that way, the local communities have the chance to make a living and have secure jobs.
